ALDAE LONG

YJ: What’s your current hustle?

AL: My current hustle is working as an artist/songwriter/producer/photographer/and director in Los Angeles. Music is obviously first, and I’m trying to build my fan base and song catalogue.

YJ: Has what you’re doing now been a life-long interest?

AL: I’ve always been interested in music, but I’ve only been recording for about 7 years.

YJ: What’s the most memorable career advice you’ve received?

AL: Man, I’ve gotten so much advice good and bad. I would say the best advice is to simply be yourself. Don’t change for anybody. Being who you aren’t only attracts the wrong crowd.

YJ: What was the biggest rookie mistake you made when first starting out?

AL: Posner and Blackbear wanted a song of mine, and I basically told them to fuck off, it was my song.. Looking back I would have totally entered the songwriting game with an open mind.

YJ: If you could tell your younger self one thing about life, what would it be?

AL: Say Less, listen more. SAVE YOUR MONEY. HAHA

YJ: Where do you find inspiration, when needing it?

AL: I find inspiration everywhere, mainly from talking to people. People are beautiful and the way they say things is different person to person. I listen a lot and make lots of notes on my iPhone. I also have a Ray Charles cassette that saves my life daily.

YJ: What has been the best moment in your career so far?

AL: Best moment of my career, is right now, finally doing what I want. Recording myself all day and night.

YJ: Was there a certain instance or event that made you realize you wanted to do this for a living?

AL: Just the love of listening back to a recording that lasts forever is enough to keep me going.

YJ: What are you still looking to achieve?

AL: I wanna tour, touch as many people as possible with love and music.

YJ: What would you say to someone who may think that their talent is not an ideal career path?

AL: Know what you really want, knowing yourself is key.

YJ: What do you see the future holding?

AL: Big songs, Albums, Tours, and Grammys.
