YJ: What’s your current hustle?
YJ: Has what you’re doing now been a life-long interest?
AT: Yes! I've always been into art, and was in an art program for 6 years. It's always been something I was naturally passionate about.
YJ: If you could tell your younger self one thing about life, what would it be?
AT: Do what you love and everything else will fall into place.
YJ: What do you think is different about your creative process?
AT: I think either between my colour editing and the details I added into my pieces. I love playing with colours and I feel that little details in artwork are the most important in my opinion.
YJ: What are you still looking to achieve?
AT: I want to achieve a lot of things, right now im focusing on expanding my art into more than prints which, is why I stopped selling them. In the future, hopefully I can be at a place where I can give other people opportunities.
YJ: What would you say to someone who may think that their talent is not an ideal career path?
AT: There is no such thing as an "ideal" career path. You have a talent for a reason, and you should always pursue it. Making yourself miserable over a "safe" career choice will never make you happy.
YJ: If you could make a bumper sticker what would it say?
AT: "Touch the Sky"
YJ: What music do you listen to for motivation?
AT: I don't really listen to music for motivation, listening to music helps me concentrate. I usually listens to R&B, Rap and 80's music.
YJ: What inspires your designs?
AT: When I daydream thats usually where my inspiration comes from. It's hard to explain.
YJ: A majority of your designs feature African-American women. Is that intentional?
AT: Of course! I grew up around beautiful black women, and being a child interested in art, I never saw black women in paintings at art museums or illustrations I'd see online. As I got better artistically, I started to create art that I wanted to see.
